Accessibility

1. Content without scripts

All records, tables, navigation and explanations are in the page HTML. JavaScript only adds the filters, home-page search, CSV download, correction-draft tool and the display of the cookie notice.

2. Keyboard and focus

Every link, button, select box, field and expandable question can be reached and used with the keyboard. A skip link jumps to the main content. Focused items show a thick outline. Navigation uses links and state changes use buttons, and the current page is marked in the menu. The cookie notice is a non-modal panel at the bottom of the page: it does not trap focus, and pressing Escape while it has focus closes it.

3. Tables and structure

Tables have captions, column headers and row headers. Each page has one main heading with headings nested below it. Numbers are in labelled lists, and the main and Euro pools are named in text as well as by position. Status is given in words, not colour alone.

4. Forms and labels

Every field has a visible label. Errors appear as text next to the field, the first problem field is focused, and result counts and tool messages are announced politely to assistive technology.

5. Motion and display

The motion on the site is a short colour or underline change on links and buttons, a slow drifting wave inside the month label on the home page, and a short slide-in of the cookie notice. All of it is switched off if your device asks for reduced motion. Text uses system fonts and wraps rather than being cut off, and the layout adapts from narrow phones to wide screens. The page body does not scroll sideways; wide tables scroll inside a labelled frame.

6. Known limitations

• No independent accessibility audit has been carried out, and no conformance level is claimed.
• The 50-row main-number frequency table is long; on narrow screens the tables may need sideways scrolling.
• Testing with a range of assistive technologies has not been completed.
• The large month label on the home page is decorative and hidden from assistive technology; the same information is in the text.
• The wave shapes in the header, footer and section headings are decorative styling and carry no information. They are not announced to assistive technology.
• The fixed cookie notice can cover part of the page on small screens until it is closed.

7. Reporting a problem

You can write up an accessibility problem with the local correction-draft tool. It prepares text on your device and does not send a message, so it is not a support ticket. You would need to pass the text on yourself.
